Stellar Blade Pays Homage to Nier by Letting You Know Eve Doesn’t Like It When You Try to Abuse Photo Mode

In case you didn’t know, Shift Up not only released a new Photo Mode update for Stellar Blade, but also a collaboration DLC with Nier Automata. While gamers are getting busy taking pictures of Eve in various suggestive positions, it seems the developers snuck in a little Easter egg that Nier fans might deem familiar.

If you bought the Nier Automata DLC and equipped the Kaine outfit for Eve, and tried looking up in places where you shouldn’t, Eve will let you know she’s not happy with what you’re doing by giving you a good swift kick to the head.

Stellar Blade Pays Homage to Nier by Not Letting Players Look Up Eve’s Skirt

Check out what we mean in the video below:

As you can see, regardless if you tried approaching the front or back, Eve will react the same way and kick out of range. For those unaware, this is an homage of sorts to Nier Replicant, as angling the camera to look up Kaine’s butt/up her skirt comes with consequences. Players will first get a warning from her to “quit it,” and trying it again will result in a kick to the head (similar to Eve), and doing it repeatedly will have Kaine mad enough to say, “fuck off and die, you pervy little shit” before killing you off (which will lead to an actual Game Over screen). You can check it out for yourself here.

While how you treat Eve using Photo Mode is none of my business, this is a nice little touch by Shift Up. Mind, I doubt this will deter anyone from trying this, but at least you know Eve’s aware, right? With the game hitting PC in 2025, I can already picture the mods people will make, and it won’t be pretty.

Based on the leaked roadmap that proved to be legit in terms of what got released, we should be getting a DLC and sequel announcement soon. Of course, the Nier Automata collab might be the DLC mentioned in the leak, in which case, we have the sequel to look forward to.

Makes the entire game suggestive. Calls gamers perves for reacting to it.
