PlayStation Store Summer Sale Update Adds New Games This July 30

Just a few weeks ago, Sony launched the PlayStation Store Summer Sale promotion that housed over 4,500 items. Today, Sony has pushed out the PSN Store Summer Sale update that adds more games, but also removes quite a large number of items. For reference, today’s update totals 4032 items, while the initial launch had 4770 items. Mind, that the omission wasn’t all games, as we’re pretty sure boosters, DLC packs and the like were part of the removals.

• Baldur’s Gate 3 (-20%, $55.99) – Might be the first time Larian’s hit RPG is part of the mega sales. Insanely deep and complex, houses dozens of hours of gameplay, and has loads of endings. No more planned DLCs or sequels from Larian, but more features are incoming. Can’t say a must-buy since some might be put off by its complexity. Watch gameplay of it and decide there.
• The Last of Us Part II Remastered (-20%, $39.99) – If you’re one of the few who still haven’t played this, then go pick it up. Play the first before this one or a lot of stuff will fly over you (or watch the TV show first). Intense action combined with that familiar Naughty Dog third-person gameplay.
• Helldivers 2 Super Citizen Edition (-20%, $47.99) – Possibly the first time this is on sale. The added stuff in the bundle might not be worth it to some but it’s all right. Good co-op game to play with friends and blast bugs away. Not easy, but the live service element is topnotch and you won’t feel microtransactioned to death.
• A Way Out – (-80%, $5.99) – Can’t play this solo, but well worth a try if you have someone to play this with. From the makers of It Takes Two.
• Battlefield 1 – (-85%R, 5.99) – One of the better Battlefields in recent memory. Should still have a healthy player base and way better than BFV and BF2042. Solid gunplay, fantastic audio design (especially if you hit headshots) and just a blast to play.
• Deathloop (-80%, $11.99) – Arkane’s finest work, has that time element stuff that doesn’t feel it doesn’t belong.
• Dishonored Definitive Edition (-75%, $4.99) – Worth a trip for the action and audio work (loads of famous actors do VO for the game), lets you play missions out the way you want to.
• Dishonored 2 (-80%, $5.99) -The sequel! If you liked the first one, then dive right in.
• DOOM Eternal Standard Edition (-75%, $9.99) – Sequel to DOOM, has more platforming stuff than your usual DOOM game but still packs a lot of carnage and demon slaying. DOOM: The Dark Ages is a prequel to the 2016 DOOM and this one in case you care about the story.
• Fallout 76 (-75%, $9.99) – Still alive and kicking! Bethesda still heavily supporting this live service game, and with the success of the Fallout TV show, more players are jumping in. Major update incoming soon as well.
• God of War Ragnarök Digital Deluxe Edition (-38%, $49.59) – Still a bit pricey, but this is one heck of a ride. Definitely worth it even at full price. Got loads of post-launch support and it has a proper endgame even if it’s not a multiplayer game. Answers a lot of questions from the first God of War: Boy, but introduces a fair few questions as well.
• Hi-Fi RUSH Deluxe Edition – (-40%, $23.99) – Tango’s last game, trippy and kind of light action game. Has a distinct Japanese style vibe which a lot of games are missing nowadays.
• MADiSON – (-35%, $22.74) – First-person horror game where you use a camera (not Fatal Frame). Quite scary and has a good amount of puzzles., Just don’t expect it to be polished as your usual AAA horror game.
• Hades -(-50%, $12.49) – Fantastic game and a sequel is out in early access and coming to consoles. Loads and loads of combinations for players to experiment with. Story not bad either and the characters are likeable.
• Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – (-29%, $49.69) – It’s rare that this game gets to be on sale, and it’s the sequel to the first one, so you know what you’re getting into. Introduces Venom and other characters, and is essentially more of everything of the first one.
• Shadow Warrior 3 – (-75%, $9.99) – Haven’t played it but a friend swears how awesome this is and how friggin’ violent it is. Worth a shot at that price I guess.
• The Elder Scrolls Online – (-70%, $5.99) – Still heavily supported, and has a very active player base. If you’re itching to play a live service game based on Elder Scrolls this is it. Just remember that expansions are paid and not free.
• The Evil Within (-75%, $4.99) – From the mind that gave us the Resident Evil franchise. The Evil Within is gorier, and way harder. At that price, it’s worth a shot to see if you can handle it or not.
• The Evil Within 2 (-80%, $7.99) – The sequel! If you dug the first one, then dive right in.
• The Last of Us Part II Digital Deluxe Edition – (-20%, $39.99) – Still kind of pricey, but this is one of those games you really don’t sell after, no? If you’re one of the maybe five people who own a PlayStation and haven’t played this, go do it.
• The Order: 1886 – (-50%, $9.99) – Insanely gorgeous game. I personally liked it a lot and the ending leads to a sequel we never got. I know some hate this since it’s a corridor shooter, but I loved it. Action-y horror that has a great story and amazing visuals.
• The Texas Chain Saw Massacre – (-70%, $11.99) – Still heavily supported, and has a decent player base. If you’re looking for another game in the same vein as Dead by Daylight, you might want to give this one a shot.
• Yakuza: Like a Dragon Hero Edition (-80%, $13.99) – Introduces a new protagonist in the Yakuza franchise, and you don’t really need to have played the earlier ones to ejoy this. Not bad at that price, and it’s packed with a lot of gameplay as well.
• Cult of the Lamb (-50%, $12.49) – Goes on sale often but even so, well worth a buy. Action-RPG with a cult-building mechanic. It’s very unique and is still getting a lot of support up to this day. Don’t let the cute graphics fool you, there’s a lot of depth in here.
• Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition – (-60%, $23.99) – Award-winning RPG by Larian, and this is an excellent turn-based tactical RPG. Expect a good storyline, NPCs and lots of decision making.
