Monster Hunter Wilds Gameplay Trailer Slashes Out, New Details Revealed
In today’s State of Play, we got our first look at a chunky new Monster Hunter Wilds gameplay trailer! It was full of intense, monster-slaying action, and we can’t wait to get our hands on the game when it launches in 2025.
You can view the trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds here:
The trailer, which opened with some exploration across a desert landscape, quickly devolved into chaotic action as the player fought numerous creatures with a slew of different weapons. We also got some great details from a press release shortly after the event aired:
For the first time ever, your protagonist will be fully-voiced! Follow them as they venture into the unknown with their Guild-appointed handler Alma, their Palico, and a mysterious child. You’ll venture across several different, transforming biomes, including the game’s first area: the Windward Plains.
Story will now flow seamlessly into gameplay for the first time in the series’ history, and players will have access to a new mount known as Seikrets. These mounts allow on-the-go sharpening, gathering, and slinger usage. Players can also store a secondary weapon type on their mount and switch back and forth during a hunt.
All fourteen weapon types will make a return. There’s also a new Focus Mode which helps players target weak points and assists with aiming and guarding. There’s also a new Hook Slinger that’s been expanded to feature more versatile actions such as collecting items from a distance!
We haven’t really seen much from Monster Hunter since its crossover with Exoprimal earlier this year, so it’s exciting to get some new content. Overall, the game looks really good. We look forward to getting a chance to play it. Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The cinematics are insane, I can’t wait until MH Wilds releases. Loved MH World and Rise, this is a day one purchase for sure.
