Elden Ring Nightreign was recently announced as a standalone adventure in the iconic Elden Ring universe. The title has already generated significant buzz, currently ranking as the 7th most wishlisted game on Steam.

While not much is known about the game, the director recently shared some details about Elden Ring Nightreign, confirming that it has no direct connection to the original Elden Ring world. This decision was made out of respect for the original game’s story. Additionally, the director confirmed that Elden Ring Nightreign will not include the “leave a message” feature from the original game.

Elden Ring Nightreign Will Not Come With Leave A Message Feature

During a recent interview with IGN Japan, the game’s director, Junya Ishizaki, explained why the team decided to remove the “leave a message” feature from the standalone title.

The feature has been well received by fans across all FromSoftware games, as it allows the community to enjoy and interact with each other in a game. Fans would also use it to troll each other, making the experience more fun and interactive.

However, Ishizaki explained that since each session in Elden Ring Nightreign is designed to last around 40 minutes, there wouldn’t be enough time for players to leave or read messages. As a result, the team decided to omit the feature.

“The reason we removed the message function is that in this game, where each session is about 40 minutes long, there is no time to write your own message and no time to read messages written by others,” Ishizaki said.

While this decision makes sense to many players, some might feel disappointed, as the “leave a message” feature has been part of almost every game from the developers.

Further discussing Elden Ring Nightreign, Ishizaki shared that the game will offer a distinct experience, providing players with a sense of accomplishment and delivering another exciting adventure within the Elden Ring universe.

In case you don’t know, Elden Ring: Nightreign will launch in 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
